Former Director at the Centre for freedom Struggle and diaspora Studies , IGNOU, Prof Kapil Kumar has also served as the Chairperson , History faculty, IGNOU and visiting professor to Monash, Catania & West Indies universities.

The Chief historian for Museums of 1857, Jalianwala Bagh, INA & Netaji , Azadi kai Diwanai at Red Fort, Delhi, he is also know as the Author of 4 books and more than 50 research papers. The Former member Press Council of India, Prof.Kapil Kumar has also served as the Former Director, Centre for Freedom Struggle & Diaspora Studies
