Trail Itinerary

Day 1 - Bhopal (14th March, 2020)
The experience seekers arrive in Bhopal at Noon and post lunch explore the Tribal Museum, followed by a visit to Taj-ul-Masjid, ending the day with an opening dinner celebrating the beginning of the trail.
Day 2 - Bhimbetka (15th March, 2020)
Followed by breakfast at the hotel, the travelers explore the caves at Bhimbetka and Udaigiri, followed by travelling to Sanchi and enjoying the Sanchi Stupa Sound and Light Show.
Day 3 - Sanchi and Chanderi (16th March, 2020)
The passion seekers travel to Chanderi and explore the Archaeological Museum, followed by a Heritage Walk. After enjoying the lunch at Kila Kothi, next up is the visit to Chanderi fort, followed by a visit to the Master Weaver for Chanderi Handloom. In the evening, they arrive in Orchha and attend the Guard-of-Honour aarti at the Raja Ram Temple in Orchha.
Day 4 - Orchha (17th March, 2020)
The day starts with breakfast and going on an eco-trail to explore Orchha on bicycles. The experience seekers then expand their knowledge of the region with a history session, followed by a Bundelkhand Royal Feast. Then on, the travellers will make their way to Khajuraho, relax in the evening and finish the day with dinner.
Day 5 - Khajuraho (18th March, 2020)
The explorers start the day by visiting the Western Group of Temples. At noon, they travel to Kutni Island and attend a session about the Khajuraho dynasty, followed by the felicitation ceremony and dinner accompanied with ethnic folk dances.
Day 6 - Return (19th March, 2020)
The day starts with a visit to the Eastern Group of Temples, followed by breakfast and checking out of the hotel. The experience seekers are then driven to the Khajuraho airport to catch their flight back home.

Archaeologist K K Muhammed

Dr. Karingamannu Kuzhiyil Muhammed is one of India’s foremost archaeologists. Honored with the hightest civilian honour in India – The Padma Shri in 2019, he also proved his mettle when he served as a tour guide to historic monuments for prominent foreign guests such as Pervez Musharraf and Barack Obama. Some of his major archaeological discoveries include excavating Ibadat Khana, the structure where Akbar proclaimed the formation of Composite religion known as Din-e Ilahi (Nursery of Indian Secularism) and discovering the first Christian Chapel of North India built by AKhbar at Fatehpur Sikri.

Mr. M C Joshi

Dr. Mohan Chandra Joshi is the Assistant Superintending Archaeologist at Archaeological Museum Sanchi under Bhopal Circle of the Archaeological Survey of India. He is also in charge of Archaeological Museum Chanderi under the Bhopal Circle of the ASI. He has participated in multiple archaeological works such as Dumdum Excavation, Kolkata, Excavation at Rajpat Gosanimari, Koch Behar, Excavation at Bais Gazi Wall, Malda and report writings of many excavations. He has also participated in many projects such as Study of Kachhapaghata Temples at Gwalior, Shivpuri and Ashok Nagar districts of Madhya Pradesh, Temples of Sagar Distrcit, etc.

Mr. Jamal Ayub

A journalist, lucky enough to feel and live the lesser known episodes and tales of Bhopal and other places. Co-author of TOI publication ‘Learning through Herigate’ (2011).
