About The Trail

Delhi Sufi trail, led by Dhruv Sangari, started with a Heritage walk early morning that covered places like Nizamuddin Auliya House, Mirza Ghalib?s tomb, etc. The first session began with an introduction to Sufi prose and poetry with discussions on Sufi poets. The session interspersed with poetry reading and discussion on Sufi philosophy. The post lunch session introduced Sufi music and the tradition of Qawwalis followed by a visit to Nizamuddin Dargah to the participants From witnessing the first traces of human evolution to a journey back to 3rd Century BC, followed by a rendezvous with Chanderi, discovering the hidden gem of Central India Orchha, and witnessing the majestic grace of Khajuraho’s 1000 year old architecture – the Culture & Heritage Trail, Madhya Pradesh offered a multitude of historically rich experiences for our experience seekers. Dhruv Sangari

Dhruv Sangari (popularly also known as Bilal Chishty) began training in Hindustani classical music at the age of 7. Later, he developed an interest in Sufism and Sufi music, and began learning Qawwali with Ustad Meraj Ahmed Nizami of the Delhi-Qawwalbachhe Gharana. He was also given training and guidance by the legendary Qawwali and Classical maestro late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khansaheb. Dhruv has been performing professionally since 2001 with his troupe ‘Rooh’. His repertoire includes Farsi, Arabic, Punjabi, Urdu and Hindvi Sufi and Bhakti poetry from the works of famed poets and saints.
